For Nikita’s game prototype he tested enemy Ai and their interactions with the player as well as the graphics and texturing as well as well as the layout of the maps/ levels. He investigated navmesh components and interactions and advanced navigation using unities path building. He looked more into Pro builder with a huge focus on the UV editor. We implemented basic textures and figured out a basic look for the game. This game also features a basic pause button for the prompt of time!!! An interaction between enemies and the player has also been setup where the enemy is locked out of movement after being destroyed where the player can interact with the “still” body after it has been defeated to involve the slicing mechanic after we merge our projects.
For Arthur’s game prototype, he developed a ‘time pause’ mechanic, which creates an effect similar to the stopping of time except for the player. This is done by iterating through each object with a rigidbody component and setting it to be Kinematic once the player presses ‘e’. Additionally, a post-processing effect was added to the prototype which contains a colour grading, chromatic aberration, and vignette which is activated when the time stop is. In the future I intend to limit the time pause effect to only a few seconds and to add a cool down system, <span class="NormalTextRun SCXW171980306 BCX0" <though="" this="" will="" <="" span="">likely be implemented with an overall ‘ability’ mechanic.</span>
From our playtest we learnt about numerous bugs and mishaps in our projects. Those being that the map should be more oriented towards the player movement system and that the player ai should be clearer to where it should face.
For or next Prototype we plan to:
Implement animations hopefully with models for our enemies.
Improved ui with ammo display and health
